Meta is said to be preparing to launch a separate submission for its AI assistant,Meta AI,in an effort to enhance its competitiveness against AI-driven chatbots like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini.
As reported by CNBC, Meta could unveil a standalone Meta AI app as early as the next fiscal quarter (April-June). Currently, Meta AI is only accessible through a website and within Meta’s suite of applications, including Facebook and WhatsApp.
Additionally,Meta intends to introduce a premium subscription option for Meta AI that will incorporate unspecified features into the assistant, according to CNBC. The publication was unable to determine the pricing details.
With over 700 million active monthly users, Meta AI forms part of the company’s comprehensive strategy aimed at establishing itself as a leading entity in the artificial intelligence sector. The firm has also been proactive in launching “foundational” models such as Llama, which it hopes will create an ecosystem that can compete with OpenAI’s offerings.
Meta is set to conduct its inaugural developer conference focused on artificial intelligence called LlamaCon, scheduled for late April.
