Google has silently modified teh website for its Responsible AI and Human Centered Technology (RAI-HCT) group, which is responsible for researching AI safety, fairness, and transparency, to remove references to “diversity” and “equity.”
An earlier version of the webpage included terminology such as “marginalized communities,” “diverse,” “underrepresented groups,” and “equity” to represent the work of the RAI-HCT team. This language has been removed or in some instances replaced with more general terms (e.g., “all,” “various,” and “many” rather of “diverse”).
Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Google is among several major tech companiesthat have scaled back DEI efforts, as the Trump Administration targets what it describes as an “‘illegal’” practice.
