This narrative includes spoilers for episode 7 of Paradise, “The Day.”
OVERALL, Hulu’s distinctive political/conspiracy/dystopian thriller Paradise offers a truly unique vibe: reminiscent of the network television series from the 2000s and 2010s. This is not necessarily a show that craves the cinematic quality of more contemporary hits like The White Lotus or Severance; nor does it seem to be cut from the same cloth as shows that followed in the wake of Lost,, which featured engaging high concepts that were undeniably digestible and generally made for relatively easy viewing. While these were somewhat melodramatic series where numerous events unfolded, it was precisely the type of show you could sit back and not overthink. It’s crafted to let the drama unfold before you, wash over you after a long day, and continue to keep you guessing at the end wanting more. em > em > p >

The episode began with flashbacks set against t he backdrop following t he Cuban Missile Crisis occurring October twenty-eighth nineteen sixty-two when nuclear war was narrowly avoided.A reflective colonel poses an crucial question: What if next time it’s someone worse behind those controls?
Well, we learn how this scenario played out later during ‘The Day’ when Cal bradford opens up his nuclear briefcase.
He had been instructed by military leaders to launch missiles from U.S.; however upon speaking with Samantha Sinatra Redmond (the captivating Julianne Nicholson who is fully embracing her villainous role at this stage) reveals there exists another option known only by sitting president—a massive EMP blast capable enough wipe out all electricity across globe along with technology itself.
Sinatra protests but Bradford proceeds forward with his decision while their aircraft continues its journey toward Colorado’s mountains.
Why? To give them hope,” he states.

Additionally Sinatra drops another bombshell—the DNA found on Cal’s deceased body did not match anyone residing inside bunker meaning killer must have come from outside world instead! is Teri among them? Is someone else posing differently than they appear?
