The Trump Administration has dismissed several employees from the National Science Foundation who were selected for their expertise in artificial intelligence, jeopardizing the organization’s ability to support crucial AI research, as reported by Bloomberg.
One of the impacted divisions within NSF, known as the Directorate for Technology, Innovation, and Partnerships, played a key role in directing government grants focused on AI. Numerous review panels have been delayed or canceled following these layoffs, hindering funding for various AI initiatives according to Bloomberg.
